New Manga: DENPA KYOUSHI

Author: Azuma Takeshi
Artist: Azuma Takeshi
Genres: Comedy, School Life, Shounen, Slice of Life, Harem*

Description:
Kagami Junichirou was known as a physics genius when he was a teenager, and he was even published in "Nature." However, after college, he suddenly lost all interest in science. As a NEET, he's devoted himself to his anime blog and nerdy collecting habits. He claims he has a serious illness called "I can't do anything I don't want to do." Desperate to get him to do something with his life, his little sister manages to get him a job teaching physics at his old high school. He's certainly an unconventional teacher, but he becomes fairly popular with the students. After helping a girl who's being ruthlessly bullied, Kagami finds that he actually likes teaching. Will he continue his career as a weird teacher? Will he go back into physics? Or will he end up back where he started?

My thoughts:
This reminds me of GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka), one of my all time favourite manga/anime. There is even a mention of GTO in one of the current chapters (15 so far). But instead of a delinquent teacher, we have an Otaku/ NEET teacher who is also considered a genius. With his unorthodox teaching methods, he finds time to delve into the lives of his students, and ultimately earn their friendship, respect, and acknowledgement as a teacher.

So far the manga has been quite enjoyable and good-humoured , the supporting characters's story are meaningful and have you interested in their future developments. What's not so good about the manga would be the plot, the story is too open to have a direction right now, there is also a hint of a possible harem.

If your looking for a new manga to read give this one a chance and it just may entertain and surprise you. The story is decent, art is average, but it was quite amusing.
I also recommend this manga for anyone looking for a fresh new spin on the teacher and student relationship manga.

Spring 2012 Manga to Anime adaptations

Acchi Kocchi:

Wouldn't you just love to poke in a relationship between two high schoolers who have a subtle distance between each other? Of course you would. Tsumiki and Io have this subtle distance that anyone would want to jump in between just to bug them. That's what the other characters are there for. Tsumiki, being a tsundere and all, won't be honest about her feelings toward Io. Io on the other hand is unaware of Tsumiki's feelings, hence the subtle distance between the two. Now, let's watch these two and see what events await them...
